How to get from Tamarindo to Santa Teresa for $17
Переглядів 195Рік тому
In this week's episode, my new travel buddies and I decided to take the arduous bus journey from Tamarindo to Santa Teresa. Shuttles for travelers in Costa Rica are notoriously expensive, and we were not interested in blowing a couple days of our budget on that. So as always, we find alternate methods of getting from point A to point B. I was lucky to have the girls by my side, but I created th...

I flew to Italy to see Lorde's concert in a castle
Переглядів 57Рік тому
in June 2022 I traveled to Italy to see Lorde perform the Solar Power tour in a castle! My impulsive decision of six months prior led to one of the most amazing nights meeting other solo travelers from around the world and jamming to our favorite Lorde songs. I stayed at the cutest airbnb with a pool and donkeys, explored the Italian countryside and culture at a local festival, and ate some of ...
Venice, Italy as a solo travel girlie on a budget
Переглядів 157Рік тому
In June 2022 I flew to Italy to see Lorde's Solar Power tour in a CASTLE in the countryside. But first, I had to stop in Venice (because what a dream). I fell asleep on a park bench on the first day after 40 hours of travel, but afterwards I met the coolest locals and had so much fun wandering for two days. As a solo traveler girl on a budget, I deeply appreciated the two euro aperol spritzes a...
I spent a week at surf camp in Costa Rica (total beginner)
Переглядів 1,7 тис.Рік тому
last July I started traveling without a plan and ended up spending 8 serendipitous days at surf camp in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I felt like a kid at camp. I remember having a conversation with someone during the week, and they said that surfing is hard... but people do it, and so can you. I adopted that mindset, and found a new passion & the best group of friends to share it with. Much love to e...
How I Pack for a Month (or more) in a Personal Item

Hi everyone, welcome to my channel. I'm Serena and I'm back with some useful travel videos to help you get started traveling solo/on a budget/without an end date/on your gap year. I've used this formula to figure out packing lists for most of my trips. Limiting myself to a bag that will fit under the seat not only saves money on flights but saves my back from pain! I think it might be helpful t...
How to Spend a 16 Hour Layover in ICELAND

In order to get to Italy, last minute and on a low budget in the high season (June), I opted for a cheap flight with a 16 hour layover in Iceland. Was it worth it? I think yes. Music by Yung Wacho - That's That (feat. Tony Rashad) - thmatc.co/?l=594EC290
Guatemala Video Diary 5: VOLCAN ACATENANGO!!!

Hiking this volcano meant the world to me. It was the perfect ending to my gap year adventures, and proof that I am physically capable of much more than I expect myself to be post-back injury. It was also one of the greatest things I have ever experienced. An otherworldly, new perspective. And the greatest time with a new friend- I thought I was going to be hiking and camping alone until Pablo ...

Guatemala Video Diary 3: Flores (CRAZY boat party!), Tikal, Crater Azul
Переглядів 2792 роки тому
I spent about a month in Flores, enjoying the beauty of the island town and surrounding areas. The sunsets were some of the most stunning in Guatemala, my friend Shannon celebrated her 23rd birthday on a party boat around the island, Crater Azul was gorgeous and peaceful, and Tikal was unforgettable. It was probably a hundred degrees every day while I was there, shuffling between the hostel and...

A peek into one of my favorite travel experiences to date. Thank you so much to Ru, Christian, and all of the others that I had the pleasure of meeting off screen. We stayed in San Marcos la Laguna for 10 days, and visited the nearby towns of Tzununa and San Pedro. The best way to get around the lake is by boat, as it is a massive body of water formed in a volcanic crater. It is a really specia...

"I would like to know what I think I'm doing right now because I could be in a dorm in nice and comfortable Los Angeles, California but I am somewhere in Bangkok not sure where I'm going." Literally so real along with "This would not be happening if I had $5 to pay for that tuk-tuk." 😭😭 The temples are so stunning and ugh a thai iced tea FROM Thailand!!? Literally need.

You can just leave the airport during a layover or did you have to booked it / notice the airlines somehow earlier that you just want to go outside?

i can't say that this is true for anyone/anywhere due to visas etc, but in my case in Iceland yes i just left and came back and it is pretty common to do so! you don't even need to book the bus to the city in advance, it was so easy

I can pack a backpack but unfortunately hsve to take a lot of meds plus if winter need a whole lot extra ..last time ended up just leaving a suitacse equivalent of clothes behind .. just way it is! I buy a weightless plastic Amazn backpack which also folds down and pack everything in that. I have to take ltop so it ends up v heavy for me as asthmatic but am determined not to take a check in anything anymore after last bag got lost a total of 4 times last time and was returned by a fluke but cost me time and a lot of extra money. I take a packable rain jacket also so useful and great ... and a collapsable water bottle too...love makeup but just take basics and bars of most .. hardly anliquids and toothpaste powder! ❤❤ just invested in compression cubes on amazon sale bfore used ordinary ones..

I have 2 different day tour backpacks that fold up into its own pocket, super lightweight and used the heck out of it on our trip to Yellowstone and from there we went to Banff, Canada. I agree, I don’t take my fave Tiffany sunglasses, but a cheap pair from Target. I also use bar soap and shampoo and I have toothpaste tablets so another thing that doesn’t need to go in my liquids bag. At the Bozeman, MT airport we we’re going to buy bear spray and the cashier gave us each a can and said if you don’t use it, just return it and never charged us…she was sooo nice! In Yellowstone hiking up the Gallatin river, we wished we’d brought bug spray. Great video!

I'd maybe recommend singapore?? There are so many great countries with lots to do, but what sets Singapore apart is the fact that everyone speaks English, which is super helpful if it's your very first time! Then once you're comfortable, you'll be much more confident and knowledgeable about solo travelling the other Asian countries where English is somewhat less common
